Monthly Cook Off at Bob Steele Chevrolet

Monthly Cook Off at Bob Steele Chevrolet

COCOA, Flor. – What better way to add a little excitement to the office and enjoy some tasty treats than with a friendly cook off? That's exactly what's happening at Bob Steele Chevrolet and let's just say our stomachs are loving it! Once a month we pick a new ingredient that must be used in competing recipes and then we let our taste buds choose the winner. So stay tuned as we updated you with each month's winning recipe in our new Monthly Cook Off at Bob Steele Chevrolet series!

This April's Monthly Cook Off at Bob Steele Chevrolet was marshmallow themed so we got to taste all kinds of sweet treats just in time for Easter! The winning recipe, Cherry Squares, incorporated marshmallows in an unexpected, yet totally delicious way! One look at the recipe below and you're going to want to whip up a batch right away!

Monthly Cook Off at Bob Steele Chevrolet

Cherry Squares Recipe
Makes about 16 squares
Preparation Time: 45 minutes

Graham Cracker Crust:
2 Cups Crushed Graham Crackers
1 Tbs Sugar
1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, Melted

Marshmallow Filling:
1 Cup Cold Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tbs Sugar
3/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract
2 ½ Cups Mini Marshmallows

Cherry Topping:
1 Can of Cherry Pie Filling

First, mix together your melted butter, graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Remove and set aside about 2/3 cup of the crumb mix and then press the rest of the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of a prepared pan (we used a 9 inch square baking pan). Cover the crust with plastic wrap and then allow it to firm up in the fridge while you prepare the filling.

For the marshmallow filling, you will first need to put your mixing bowl and wire whisk in the freezer for about 15 minutes to allow them to chill. Then, in your cold bowl, beat together your cold cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Fold in your marshmallows and then smooth the filling over your prepared graham cracker base before covering it and allowing it to set in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. You can even leave it in there overnight!

When you're ready to serve your Cherry Squares, get them out of the fridge, use a sharp knife to cut them into squares and then top with a dollop of cherry pie filling and remaining graham cracker crumbs. Enjoy!

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

COCOA, Flor. – Spring has sprung and the Easter Bunny is headed this way! We've got the perfect solution to make sure he stops by your house on Sunday, April 20th: Spring Easter Treat Ideas! Whether you're excited to see what he has in his basket for you, or are just feeling extra enthusiastic for spring, these recipes will have everyone coming back for more!

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

 Chocolate Dipped Peeps
1-2 packages of Peeps
1 package white or chocolate candy melts
Sprinkles

Now this is a peep-tastic idea! Peeps are a classic Easter treat, but what's even better is dipping them in chocolate! Grab some candy melts then use a microwave safe bowl to melt them in 30 second increments, making sure to stir between each interval. Then dip away and let the Peeps rest on some wax paper so the chocolate can set completely. If you want to add any sprinkles, just sprinkle them on before the chocolate hardens!

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

Bunny Bait
2 cups pretzels
1 bag popped white popcorn
1 package white melting chocolate
1 bag festive M&M's
2 cups Chex cereal
1 container colored sprinkles

Sweet and salty snacker? Look no further than Bunny Bait for your spring treat! Mix up some pretzels, popcorn and Chex cereal on a baking sheet and then drizzle with some melted chocolate. You can either use the leftover melted candy melts from above, or melt some more in 30 second increments. Then give the mixture a stir, top with sprinkles, and let it set (speed up the process by tossing the baking sheet in the fridge). Finally, break the bark into pieces, add M&M's or speckled eggs, and then serve it up!

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

Chocolate Egg Nests
1 package chocolate candy melts
2 cups pretzel sticks, broken up
Spring M&M's or speckled eggs

If you're going for the impressive-presentation-factor, then these adorable chocolate egg nests will get the job done, and they are easier than they look to make! Again, melt your package of candy melts and then stir in 2 cups of broken up pretzel sticks. On a sheet of parchment paper, begin for form little piles or "nests" with the chocolate-covered pretzels. Let the chocolate harden and then top with your "eggs"!

Spring Easter Treat Ideas

Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treat Eggs
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
10oz mini marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
1 bag chocolate candy melts
Sprinkles
Egg-shaped cookie cutter

But if you want to keep things classic, there is nothing better than a great Rice Krispie Treat! So mix up your go-to Rice Krispie Treat recipe, and then whip out your favorite spring cookie cutter (we used an egg shape)! Then if you want to make them even better, melt some more candy melts and decorate them with chocolate and sprinkles! It's that easy!

Wishing you a very happy Easter from your friends at Bob Steele Chevrolet! We'd love to hear what your favorite Easter treat is, so share it with us in the comments!
