2015 Corvette Z06: Most Powerful Corvette Ever Built

2015 Corvette Z06: Most Powerful Corvette Ever Built

COCOA, Flor. – We officially have confirmation that the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the most powerful Corvette ever built, at 650 HP and 650 lb.-ft., which also makes it one of the most powerful vehicles on the market!

With official horsepower and torque ratings recently released by General Motors, the 2015 Corvette Z06, capable of 650 HP and 650 lb.-ft., is definitely living up to its supercar status. The car's new LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine improves upon the standard Stingray's LT1 engine by adding 200 horsepower, making it one of the highest output engine ever sold in a GM product! The LT4 incorporates many of the LT1's features like direct injection, cylinder deactivation, and variable valve timing, but in order to increase output, the LT4 adds stronger cylinder heads, lightweight titanium intake valves, lighter steel connecting rods, special aluminum pistons, a stainless steel exhaust manifold, and a 1.7-liter supercharger!

But with so much power, GM engineers had to pay special attention to the Z06's design to ensure it offered a more flexible curve torque for better on-demand power at any rpm. And with a horsepower peak that occurs at 6400 rpm and torque peak that occurs at 3600 rpm, that's exactly what they did.

If you want to get behind the wheel of the most powerful Corvette ever built, the 2015 Corvette Z06, get ready for its seven-speed manual and eight-speed automatic versions to arrive in dealerships early in 2015! Performance Car of the Year Nominee: Corvette Stingray

Performance Car of the Year Nominee: Corvette Stingray

COCOA, Flor.– The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray may soon have another impressive award to add to its collection if it can beat out some impressive competition. At a recent press conference at the Geneva Auto Show in Switzerland, nominees for the World Car of the Year awards were announced, and guess who received a World Performance Car of the Year Nomination–the Corvette Stingray!

Next month at the New York Auto Show, the official World Car of the Year winners will be announced and we're keeping our fingers crossed that Chevy's Performance Car of the Year Nominee: the Corvette Stingray, is crowned the winner in its category! While a few other GM vehicles were nominated in additional categories, the Stingray was the only model to make the final cut. So as the only vehicle representing GM in the prestigious awards, the Corvette Stingray will have to beat out the Porsche 911 GT3 and Ferrari 458 Speciale in order to win. It definitely gets our vote!

Whether or not the Corvette is crowned official Performance Car of the Year, it is in our eyes, and we can help you make one the star of your driveway too! Bob Steele Chevrolet is committed to providing our customers with a comfortable, family experience – we call it the Family Difference! We treat our customers and employees like family, and work to make everyone comfortable at our dealership located at 2800 W. Follow Up: Corvette Museum Cars Recovered

Follow Up: Corvette Museum Cars Recovered

COCOA, Flor.– On Monday we were excited to share the news that crews were beginning the daunting task of rescuing the eight rare Corvettes that were swallowed by a 40-ft. wide sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum. Just two days later we have an update on the Corvette Museum cars being recovered – the first three vehicles have officially been removed!

The first two vehicles, a 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil and 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Edition Corvette didn't pose too much of an issue for crews, but the third vehicle, a 1962 black Corvette was a bigger challenge since a 5-ton slab of concrete was resting on the front end. To avoid further damage, workers had to remove the concrete slab and the car at the same time. With the help of two cranes, they managed to pull it off, which meant that in just two days three Corvette Museum Cars were recovered from the sinkhole!

Crews cannot attempt to remove any additional vehicles until they can further stabilize the sinkhole, which could take two to three weeks. We will keep you updated on all the latest news so stay tuned! Or, if it's given you the urge to pick up your own Corvette, come see us today! Corvette Museum Cars Recovered

Corvette Museum Cars Recovered

COCOA, Flor.– Last month a 40-ft. wide sinkhole opened up under the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY, and then one of our worst fears came true – eight rare Corvettes were swallowed by the hole leaving us to wonder if they could ever be recovered. The good news is that today the process of recovering the Corvette Museum cars began!

Crews got to work this morning in an effort to rescue three of the most accessible vehicles this week. The first of the Corvette Museum cars recovered was a 2009 Corvette ZR1 "Blue Devil" that was sitting on top of the rubble. It's positioning left it in such good condition that it was able to start up and drive away from the scene after it was lifted out!

Next, crews will get to work rescuing a 40th Anniversary Corvette from the sinkhole. Like the Blue Devil, this Vette is also uncovered so hopefully it is in just as good condition. The third Corvette to be recovered this week, a 1962 model, appears to pose the biggest challenge. A five-ton slab from the museum floor is resting on the car and both must be removed simultaneously, complicating the process. After that, the museum will begin to work on uncovering the remaining five vehicles followed by repairs to the sinkhole and museum building.

If you don't want to see any other Corvettes have to go through a situation like this, you can take things into your own hands by keeping your very own Corvette safe in your garage! And we can help you make owning one possible!
