Chevrolet Brings In-Car 4G LTE to SXSW

COCOA, Flor.– For the fifth year in a row, Chevy is headed to the South by Southwest film, interactive, and musical festival and conference as a Super Sponsor! But this year, in addition to everything the automaker has brought to the event in the past, Chevrolet is bringing in-car 4G LTE to SXSW to let festival-goers be among the first to experience the brand new technology!

To celebrate the brand's return to South by Southwest for the fifth year as a Super Sponsor, Chevy decided to bring something big to the Texas event this year. As in past years, the automaker will feature speakers, advanced technologies, and music showcases from March 7-16, but that's not all attendees will get to experience. Chevrolet will bring in-car 4G LTE to SXSW this year, letting conference-goers be some of the first to interact with the in-vehicle high-speed data connection that will hit the streets this summer!

In addition to brining advanced new technologies and conversations to SXSW, a Chevy favorite will be returning too–Catch A Chevy rides! Attendees can count on Chevrolet to beat the heat and navigate the streets with complimentary rides in cool Chevy vehicles like the Impala and Volt. Rob Dyrdek Sets World Record Driving Chevy Sonic

COCOA, Flor.—Television star and former professional skateboarder, Rob Dyrdek, took on a challenge in one of Chevrolet's own: the Sonic. He was confidant that the Sonic could be his partner-in-crime when it came to setting a Guinness World Record, and he was right!

Performed before a crowd at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Dyrdek set a world record for the Farthest Reverse Ramp Jump by a Car while driving the Chevy Sonic, going a distance of 89-feet 3¼-inches! He successfully landed the jump and was able to drive away from the stunt. The performance can be seen on the season finale of MTV's “Fantasy Factory,” which is set to air on March 13 at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST. In the mean time, go ahead and catch a glimpse below:

This wasn't Dyrdek's first achievement in the Sonic and we're sure it won't be his last! In 2011, he performed a 360-degree kick-flip off of a ramp driving the Chevy Sonic and impressed an enthusiastic crowd. 2015 Chevy Cruze Spy Photos
